As Head of Content Commissioning, James is responsible for BBC Music programming across television, radio and online. BBC Music is the corporation’s strongest commitment to music in over 30 years – comprising of new partnerships and ground-breaking music initiatives, including the classical music initiative for schools Ten Pieces, BBC Music Day, the Mercury Prize and the BBC Music Awards. The At the BBC series kicked off in 2015 with BAFTA nominated Adele At The BBC, presented by Graham Norton. Michael Bublé At The BBC, fronted by Claudia Winkleman, was broadcast in 2016, followed by Harry Styles At The BBC presented by Nick Grimshaw and Sam Smith At The BBC, presented by Fearne Cotton. In December, the exclusive performance and interview, U2 At The BBC, hosted by Cat Deeley played on BBC One. BBC Music’s My Generation series celebrated the musical decades with films profiling the early years of artists including Tom Jones, Keith Richards and Geri Horner, and the glory of Glastonbury will air on the BBC for the next five festivals until 2022. A new six-part music show for BBC One, Sounds Like Friday Night, launched this autumn. The show, hosted by Greg James and Dotty, has so far featured performances from Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo, Dua Lipa and Liam Payne
